Dr. Alethia J. Simmons is a dedicated leader, educator, and minister from Washington, DC, whose life work centers on faith, education, and service. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from DC Teacher’s College, a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling from Trinity College, a Master’s in Biblical Studies/Old Testament from Maple Springs Bible College, and a Doctor of Ministry in Theology from Liberty University.

Dr. Alethia Simmons is a licensed and ordained minister and a devoted member of The New Macedonia Baptist Church. She has served faithfully in numerous ministry roles, including church planter and co-founder, assistant pastor, conference facilitator, youth and young adult minister, missionary, teacher, church administrator, and radio announcer. Her ministry reflects a lifelong commitment to strengthening families, nurturing faith, and restoring hope across generations.

With more than forty years in public and correctional education, Dr. Simmons has served as a classroom teacher, counselor, school principal, project liaison, higher education and library services administrator, and national certified instructor. She directed educational services for over 10,000 DC inmates housed nationwide, ensuring access to meaningful learning opportunities. After retiring as an Educational Administrator with the DC Department of Corrections, she transitioned into full‑time ministry.

In 2008, Dr. Simmons founded Seven Keys to a Mother’s Heart Ministry, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to encouraging, equipping, and restoring families. What began as workshops for mothers expanded into a broad ministry serving women, men, and entire households through training sessions, fellowships, prayer lines, international radio broadcasts, and the weekly television program “Are You OK? — Let’s Talk About It!” aired on Now Television, Facebook, and YouTube. She also partners with nonprofit organizations, community agencies, and service providers throughout the Washington, DC region to deliver essential resources and compassionate support to individuals and families in need.

Her ministry has reached thousands across the Washington, DC region, the eastern United States, Jamaica, Central America, Thailand, Haiti, and Africa. She has designed and taught Christian educator certification courses through the Baptist Education Congress and is the author of “Rescuing the Millennials – Connecting the Missing Piece”.

Dr. Simmons currently serves as Ministry and Non‑Profit Leader for Global United Fellowship and Paradise International Fellowship, Sergeant‑at‑Arms for the Baptist Ministers’ Conference for Women, and a member of Congressman Glenn Ivey and Councilmember Ingrid Watson's Senior Advisory Board. She has received numerous awards and honors for her service.

A cancer survivor, recent widow, and proud mother of her son Aaron and grandmother to Isaiah and Layla, Dr. Simmons remains a humble servant of God, committed to advancing His Kingdom and strengthening families around the world. Her walk-in ministry is grounded in the truth of Romans 8:38 – “that nothing can separate us from the love of God”. To God Be the Glory!
